The Conseil supérieur de l’Ordre des experts-comptables (CSOEC)

Founded in 1945 and placed under the authority of the French Ministry of Finance, CSOEC is the national body of the French regulated profession of “experts-comptables”. Its role is to ensure the representation, promotion, and development of the “experts-comptables”, both in France and abroad.

Closest and most trusted adviser to the SMEs, the “expert-comptable” is an under-oath-of-office professional who provides a wide range of services (accounting, tax, labour, management, corporate social responsibility, digital organisation, etc.) to all kinds of entities in business, not-for-profit or public sectors, as well as to individuals.

Following its motto “science, conscience, independence”, CSOEC sets the professional standards, enforces the professional Code of Ethics, and issues recommendations that the “experts-comptables” have to comply when performing their duties. Substantially reformed since the Service Directive was brought into force, the regulated framework applicable to the “experts-comptables” now fully complies with the European law while bringing transparency and security both to the client and the market, in the public interest.

As a matter of fact, CSOEC is an important and trusted source of recommendations and proposals to the public authorities regarding business, tax and labour regulation efficiency, regulatory simplification, business incentives…

CSOEC contributes to the development and dissemination of accounting doctrine in France and abroad, as well as to the work of many accounting organisations worldwide : European Federation of Accountants and Auditors (FEE), European Tax Adviser Federation (ETAF), Federation of Francophone Accountants (FIDEF), Latin Europe and America Integration Committee (CILEA), Federation of Mediterranean Accountants (FCM), International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), etc.
