OCC Portugal becomes a full member of ETAF

June 1, 2026

The European Tax Adviser Federation (ETAF) is pleased to announce that the Order of Certified Accountants of Portugal (OCC) has officially become a full member of the Federation as of 1 June 2026.

Founded in Lisbon in 1995, OCC is the public professional body representing certified accountants in Portugal, with statutory responsibility for regulating, supervising and promoting the profession. With around 70,000 members across its headquarters and 19 regional delegations covering the whole of Portugal including the Azores and Madeira, OCC is one of the largest professional orders in the country. Its members play a central role in the Portuguese tax system, supporting taxpayers, businesses and public authorities through high standards of technical competence, professional ethics and compliance with national and European legislation, including in the areas of accounting, financial reporting and tax advice.

The decision to accept the application of OCC as a full member was taken unanimously on 7 May 2026 during the ETAF General Assembly in Brussels. On this occasion, delegates to the General Assembly were happy to welcome the President of OCC, Paula Franco, as a guest.

The full membership of OCC marks a further milestone in ETAF’s mission to unify and strengthen the voice of regulated tax professionals within the European Union. The ETAF Board and all its members look forward to a close and productive collaboration with OCC in the years ahead.
